TigerLogic Announces Major Release of Omnis Studio Version 6.0 for “Code Once, Deploy Anywhere” Mobile Enterprise Application Development

Omnis Studio® 6.0 cross-platform capabilities enable efficient development and deployment of mobile enterprise applications across all leading devices, all from one code base.

IRVINE, Calif., June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — TigerLogic Corporation (Nasdaq: TIGR) today launched Omnis Studio version 6.0 with major new enhancements to its feature-rich JavaScript Client platform that enables developers to create and deploy highly interactive web and mobile enterprise applications for Android, iOS, BlackBerry, and Windows based devices, all from one code base. The JavaScript Client technology in Omnis Studio 6.0 achieves tighter integration with native device functionality, resulting in a richer and more engaging mobile experience for end users.

Omnis Studio 6.0, a high-performance visual Rapid Application Development (RAD) tool, uses scripting compatible with HTML5 and CSS3 to enable a rich user interface experience supported in modern browsers. Applications created using Omnis Studio can run on virtually any web or mobile device, on any platform. With over 30 ready-made JavaScript components, Omnis Studio 6.0 offers a fast and efficient way to build form-based, data-driven web and mobile applications that integrate with all leading backend databases for access to enterprise system data.

“ClaimTrak is extremely excited about the release of Omnis Studio v6.0. We have been waiting for a tool that will bring the rich feel of the desktop to the web while still maintaining RAD ability. We believe with this release, TigerLogic has accomplished that goal,” said Brad Ewalt , President & CEO, ClaimTrak Systems Inc.

“The Omnis Studio 6.0 JavaScript Client is a powerful tool that enables developers to create interactive and responsive user interfaces for web and mobile devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones,” said Bob Whiting , General Manager, TigerLogic UK. “Use of native wrappers for each device helps speed development, application deployment, and creates a consistent user experience when accessing device functions. Combine this with a single development code base and you have a ‘utopia’ for mobile app developers, offering the best of all things. We believe developers will find Omnis Studio 6.0 a compelling proposition for creating web and mobile applications and for providing solutions across all industries and markets.”

“With fast development of web based applications, and outstanding tech support, we were convinced to use Omnis Studio 6.0 to enhance and modernize our ‘Mr. Clean’ ERP system,” said Mr. Guenter Wessling , Managing Director, BFW-Datentechnik GmbH, Germany. “We believe that Omnis Studio’s advanced mobile technology will open many new lines of business for us.”

Omnis Studio 6.0 includes support for serverless or “offline” capabilities that enable a mobile device application to operate even when connection to the internet is intermittent or completely absent. In “online” mode, Omnis mobile application data and content can be synchronized with a database server once connection is re-established. In addition, the new SQL Worker Objects process time-consuming tasks in the background, allowing users to work faster and more efficiently. Enhancements to web and mobile form properties allow applications to dynamically resize and adapt to any device browser window. A new device control enables tighter integration with mobile device features such as Camera functions and GPS services, while the use of high resolution images enrich applications for high definition screens found on the latest mobile devices. Localization enhancements support multi-language applications to allow developers to reach broader markets.
